ABOUT US / CSR
At Ince & Co we are committed both to the international maritime community and our local communities. We are actively reducing the impact of our business on the environment and encourage Ince people to adopt environmentally friendly practices.
Our contributions to the maritime community include:
- funding the Philippa Kaye Library within the Institute of Maritime Law, University of Southampton
- awarding an annual prize for a student on Swansea University’s LLM Programme on International Maritime, Trade and Commercial Law
- sponsorship of the National Maritime Museum in London.
The firm supports the Donald O’May memorial lecture, which takes place annually in the City of London. Recent speakers have included the Right Hon Sir Anthony Clarke and the Hon Mrs Justice Gloster DBE.
We are involved in a number of community initiatives including:
- working with a local school to provide assistance with a reading scheme and careers opportunities
- working with a local sailing charity whose objectives are to nurture responsibility and initiative in disadvantaged and disabled children
- offering work experience to young people to assist them in maximising their employment opportunities
- sponsoring equipment for a Thames-side girls’ rowing team
- pro bono assistance to local community groups.
Our ‘Incesight’ days aim to break down some of the perceived barriers between the City and the local communities. Pupils from a school in Bermondsey are invited to visit our London office, talk to staff, learn about our work and potential career opportunities and we take them on guided tours of the Royal Courts of Justice and Lloyd’s of London.
