Equal Opportunities and Diversity Policy
This policy is designed to promote fair, equal treatment and to prevent discrimination, victimisation and harassment. Ince & Co is committed to ensuring that all employees have equal opportunities and that discrimination is eliminated. This policy also applies in addition to employees, to all existing partners, anyone applying for appointments within Ince & Co and to people outside the firm with whom we have professional dealings. A copy of this policy has been given to every employee and a further copy can be obtained at any time by contacting the HR Department.
If you wish to make a complaint of discrimination or harassment our Handbook explains how you should do this. Ince & Co is committed to being an equal opportunity employer and to being fair and equal in all its professional dealings with others. We are determined to ensure that no job applicant, employee or external professional contact receives less favourable treatment on the grounds of race, colour, nationality, ethnic or national origins, sex (including marital status), gender reassignment, pregnancy, maternity or paternity), sexual orientation, religion or belief, age or disability. We are also totally committed to ensuring that employees and those with whom we have professional dealings are not subjected to sexual or racial harassment or any form of victimisation. Discrimination can take many forms and includes :
Sexual Harassment of either Men or Women
This can include verbal comments about the way people look or dress, lewd remarks or glances, questions about a person's sex life, requests for sexual favours and intimate physical contact.
Racial Harassment
This can include abuse, alleged "jokes", graffiti, refusal to speak to others and physical contact.
Disability Harassment
This can include stereotyped assumptions and comments about disabled people's ability, alleged "jokes" and unwanted and patronising comments or behaviour towards people with disabilities.
Sexual Orientation Harassment
This can include abuse, alleged "jokes", graffiti, refusal to speak, unwanted and patronising comments or behaviour on the grounds of sexual orientation.
Religious Belief Harassment
This can include alleged "jokes", unwanted or patronising comments about a person's religious beliefs.
Employment Practices
Failure to recruit, select, promote and treat all employees in the same way irrespective of their sex, disability, race, nationality, ethnic or national origin, sexual orientation or religious belief.
Discrimination is not always intentional or overt. Practices and policies will be monitored to ensure that the Equal Opportunity Policy is being properly implemented and where barriers to equal opportunities are identified, any necessary changes will be made.
The efficiency of any organisation will clearly be improved if it seeks to develop the skills and abilities of all of its employees.
Equality of opportunity and compliance with the law and with our professional code of conduct are vital to ensure that everyone is treated with the personal respect and dignity that you would wish others to treat you.
