“The two weeks of the scheme are very hands-on. It’s real legal work. You’re not here to be a spectator, you’re expected to make a proper contribution.”
“For a liberating yet undoubtedly ‘tough’ training environment, confident, brainy, outgoing types should look no further.”
Chambers & Partners Student Guide
Our Trainee Recruitment Placement Scheme (TRPS) gives you a practical insight into our firm and our practice.
The scheme runs at Easter and during the summer. In total, up to 15 people take part each year, with each placement lasting two weeks. We welcome a maximum of three at any one time to ensure that we can give you all the attention and support you need.
The dates for the 2009 scheme are:
Easter 2009
23 March - 3 April
6 April - 17 April
Summer 2009
22 June - 3 July
6 July - 17 July
20 July - 31 July
During the scheme, you sit with a partner, usually a member of our recruitment committee, and you’re assigned a trainee as your ‘minder’, to look after you while you’re with us.
You work on real cases – attending court and hearings and meeting clients, drafting correspondence, doing legal research.
The aim is to give you a thorough taste of life as a trainee at Ince & Co. It could also be the first step on the road to becoming an Ince trainee, as all TRPS participants are guaranteed an interview for a training contract with us for two years ahead. For this reason, we are only able to consider applications from those who are able to commence a training contract with us in September 2011.
We will begin to accept applications for our 2009 scheme from 1 December 2008 until 31 January 2009. To apply, please use the Ince & Co Online Application System.
