Aviation insurance

Ince & Co’s aviation insurance lawyers are experienced in advising clients on a range of insurance matters for airlines and aircraft operators and their insurers, along with advising on product liability claims.

Our history of advising clients on aviation claims dates back to the 1970s. Ince lawyers have advised on numerous landmark cases including the Kegworth Air Disaster in 1989, the 2002 Bristow Helicopters Sikorsky S-76A crash and the ADC Airlines 737-200 crash in Nigeria in October 2006.

Our advice to clients includes:

  • insurance and reinsurance markets on policy coverage issues
  • defending insurers and insureds from in-bound claims
  • subrogation recoveries
  • product liability claims
  • death, injury and property damage
  • carriage of passengers and cargo
  • airport, ATC and ground handling
  • supply of products and services

The firm has a growing reputation across all its businesses for protecting clients’ reputations (as well as their liabilities) following accidents. Within the Group is substantial experience of working in the aviation industry alongside our transaction and case handling experience. The deep understanding of the aviation market which this combination of expertise brings with it, means our clients receive expert, tailored, practical and cost effective solutions.

"The firm is singled out for its excellence on the aviation insurance and litigation side, where it acts for a mixture of airlines, airports, insurers, operators and trade associations." Chambers and Partners
"Ince & Co’s team is praised for its expertise in complex insurance claims in numerous jurisdictions and in negotiating aviation commercial transactions.” Chambers & Partners

We are particularly focused on the need to give value to our clients in all that we do and have developed various different pricing and fee models to meet this objective.  We do not believe that one fee model works for all clients, nor that one client wants the same fee model for all its work.  Our aim is to let you buy and pay for only that which you want, at a price that makes sense for us both.

For more information please contact Gillie Belsham, Global Head of Aviation, Brian Boahene or Anna Anatolitou.
