WHAT WE DO / SHIPPING / ADMIRALTY

The premier casualty firm.” Chambers & Partners, 2007

“… its casualty expertise is exceptional.” Chambers & Partners, 2009

Our combination of expertise, experience and flexibility means that Ince & Co is instructed in virtually every major maritime casualty worldwide. We act for shipowners, charterers, cargo interests, P&I Clubs, other insurers and salvors in dealing with the legal aspects of ship fires, sinkings, strandings, groundings and collisions and their aftermath – such as pollution and clean-up, salvage and towage or wreck removal.

Our global network of offices and our international emergency response team mean that we are well-placed to respond to our clients’ needs quickly and effectively, allowing us to use our extensive resources to provide immediate, reliable legal advice. Our Admiralty team, which includes a significant number of ex-mariners, draws on a wealth of experience when advising clients during a casualty investigation.

We advise clients on the best forum in which to resolve disputes, general average, claims calculation, limitation and insurance claims. We deal with national and international authorities and represent clients’ interests in formal enquiries and investigations.
