WORK AT INCE / TRAINEE RECRUITMENT / SINGAPORE

As one of the busiest ports in Asia, Singapore positions itself as an international maritime centre, and is the regional focal point for shipping, shipbuilding, shipbroking, the offshore and marine engineering industry, commerce, finance and, increasingly, for insurance and reinsurance.

It is also fast becoming the venue of choice for maritime disputes and arbitration in Asia. Ince & Co’s Singapore office has provided English legal services in the Republic since 1992, and now has approaching 20 fee earners.

In the field of shipping, Ince Singapore has extensive experience of both "wet" (admiralty) matters, such as collision, salvage and pollution, and "dry" contractual and tortious disputes, such as charterparties, bills of lading, international trade and commodities. In other spheres such as shipbuilding and energy, Ince Singapore advises shipyards, contractors and operators on design/build disputes, newbuilding contracts, operational start-up issues and the entire spectrum of upstream contracting.

Ince Singapore has been at the forefront of legal developments in the LNG field and advises on all aspects of LNG production and shipping. We also have a high profile in marine insurance and reinsurance, sale and purchase of second-hand tonnage and, we have an expanding non-contentious practice focussed mainly on ship and energy finance. We assist on all disputes relating to international trade and transportation by land, sea and air, together with all modes of carriage.

In 2008, 2009 and 2010 our Singapore team, together with our Hong Kong and Shanghai teams, won the Seatrade Asia Maritime Law Award. The Singapore office is the 2007 and 2009 winner of the Asia Legal Business SE Asia Shipping Law Firm of the Year Award. Ince Singapore was also awarded the Who’s Who Legal Global Shipping and Maritime Law Firm of the Year Award in 2008 and 2009.
